When used in the drop position and not the rise, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4600 should not make any contact with the tail gate or create any issues with limiting the turning radius. Air bags are primarily designed to help suspend loads carried in the truck bed, and will not do much to distribute any of the trailer tongue weight to the front truck axle.
Once your ATV is loaded into your truck bed, you will need to consider about 1/2 its weight (the portion located behind the rear truck axle) as tongue weight. What I recommend is going with the Curt 2 bike bolt-on rack # C18011 because it will mount to any ball mount or step bumper and can hold 2 bikes with a maximum weight of 70 pounds.
Unfortunately the Curt ATV ball mount adapter # C45006 you referenced will not work because it will bend.

The U-Bolt mounting kit that comes with the ToyLok ATV/UTV Mounted Retractable Cable Lock # LC337120-337114 can be found separately as part # LC337114. To mount this to your bumper you'll have to get a bit creative because the U-Bolts are designed to fit 3/4" - 1" ATV-UTV racks so there is no way that they will wrap around your 4" square bumper if that's what you had in mind.

The Reese Towpower # RP7065000 can be used in the drop position. However, when in the drop position, the tow hook will interfere with the mount location for the hitch ball. The only ideal use of the Towpower in the drop position is for the clevis pin.
In order to access the hitch ball when # RP7065000 is in the dropped position, the tow hook would need to be cut off. This would void the warranty on the product.

Dirty or corroded weldnuts can be an issue for hitch installs. What you will want to do is check out the help links I attached that detail how to clean them so that you can install that last bolt to secure your hitch.

The tow loops on the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31180 are recovery points that you can hook a tow strap to like part # EM59700 and pull yourself out with if you ever get stuck. They are rated for 9,000 lbs each just like the receiver tube. I do understand your frustration but this restriction is not from etrailer, it is from Roadmaster. Please keep in mind while the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 4" Drop/Rise, part # RM-077-4, is rated for flat towing that this application adds virtually no tongue weight when hooked up to your vehicle properly. Towing a trailer will always add some tongue weight and create more side to side movement, more torque, etc.

I spoke with my contact at Derale, our supplier of transmission coolers about your question. He tells me that there isn't anything unusual about your Ford Edge (or the Sport model) that would inhibit you from having a transmission cooler installed. He went on to tell me that the owner of the company had a Ford Edge, and that they successfully installed a transmission cooler on that vehicle.

You are right that the minimum recommended ground clearance is 11". Using the # BWTS20049B in its lowest position would leave one of the trailer balls lower than the vertical portion of the ball mount. There really is no work around in this case.
